Are You Aware Of The New Training Requirement?

On December 29, 2009, President Obama issued Executive Order 13526 which replaced our old Executive Order 12958 originally signed in 1995. The changes represented in this new E.O. will have a discernible impact on our security programs.

Specifically, Section 2.1 of the new Executive Order 13526 states, "Persons who apply derivative classification markings shall receive training in the proper application of the derivative classification principles of the order, with an emphasis on avoiding over-classification, at least once every 2 years. Derivative classifiers who do not receive such training at least once every 2 years shall have their authority to apply derivative classification markings suspended until they have received such training."

We have three courses that will meet this new requirement: "Information Security", "Security Specialist" and "Understanding NISPOM Requirements". The two-day Information Security course is exclusively an Executive Order 13526 course in that it is all about classification management, classification, marking of classified documents, declassification, and safeguarding. Enroll today and take care of this requirement with quality training and a Certificate of Completion for your security record from Kenneth Sudol & Associates.

ISP Certification Exam

John Waller, Industrial Security Professional (ISP) will be proctoring the ISP exam for eligible candidates who attend his April "Understanding NISPOM Requirements" class in Huntsville, AL and the following class in July in Springfield, VA. The two-hour ISP exam will be taken on-line only and will be administered on Friday afternoon immediately following completion of the class. Get more details here...
