ISOO Directive 1 Is Now Available
ISOO Directive Number 1 gives us specific direction on how to implement the Executive Order on classification, declassification and safeguarding (EO 13526 signed Dec 29, 2009). Are You Aware Of The New Training Requirement?
On December 29, 2009, President Obama issued Executive Order 13526 which replaced our old Executive Order 12958 originally signed in 1995. The changes represented in this new E.O. will have a discernible impact on our security programs. Of note is the requirement for persons with authority as Derivative Classifiers to receive training on classification principles at least once every 2 years.
We have three courses that will provide training on proper classification markings: "Information Security", "Security Specialist" and "Understanding NISPOM Requirements". The two-day Information Security course is exclusively an Executive Order 13526 course in that it is all about classification management, classification, marking of classified documents, declassification, and safeguarding. ISP Certification Exam
John Waller, Industrial Security Professional (ISP) will be proctoring the ISP exam for eligible candidates who attend his "Understanding NISPOM Requirements" class. The two-hour ISP exam will be taken on-line only and will be administered on Friday afternoon immediately following completion of the class. Application and fee must be received by NCMS at least 30 days prior to exam date. Get more details here...
